Dubai Creek Pearl Mosque

Proposal

Set along Dubai Creek, this mosque is conceived as a sculpted fragment of a sphere, elevated above the ground to form a shaded public plaza and expansive reflecting pools. Spherical voids are carved from the main volume, each lined with shimmering muqarnas that filter light into patterned, atmospheric rays. The geometry and materiality pay homage to the region’s pearl-diving heritage, recalling the iridescent interiors of oyster shells. Floating above the landscape, the mosque becomes both a place of worship and a civic landmark—an interplay of light, form, and cultural memory.
